Sir Waldron Smithers
, Chislehurst
asked the Secretary of State for War the cost of the sewage disposal plant at a camp of which he has been informed; why was it condemned by the public health authority; has the plant been abandoned; if so, what alternative method of disposing of the sewage has been adopted, and at what cost; and will he give the names of the persons responsible, and state what disciplinary action has been taken?
Secretary of State was originally the title given to the two officials who conducted the Royal Correspondence under Elizabeth I. Now it is the title held by some of the more important Government Ministers, for example the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs.
