asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he can now state when the insurance schemes provided for in Part II of the War Damage Act will be put into operation?

Yes, Sir. Orders have now been laid before Parliament bringing the business scheme, including the special scheme for farmers, into force on 17th April and the private chattels scheme on 1st May. Thirty days' grace will be given in each case to enable people to take out policies under the schemes.
