asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether, in view of the resentment felt by representatives of African peoples in this country at the usage of the term "nigger," he will make representations to the British Broadcasting Corporation, and elsewhere, to avoid this term being used?
I am confident that the B.B.C. and the Press of this country will entirely agree with my hon. Friend's view that terms which are likely to give offence to any peoples of the Empire should be avoided. The matter has been brought to the notice of my right hon. Friend, the Minister of Information.
