asked the Secretary of State for War what number of men have died from pneumonia and other illnesses at a camp on the East Coast and, after being invalided away from it, since it was taken over by the army; and what steps are being taken to make it warmer and more serviceable for winter weather?

So far as I have been able to ascertain, there have been no deaths from illness contracted at the camp referred to. Four hundred additional oil stoves are being supplied.

Secretary of State was originally the title given to the two officials who conducted the Royal Correspondence under Elizabeth I. Now it is the title held by some of the more important Government Ministers, for example the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs.
