asked the Prime Minister whether the Government will give consideration to making a statement now with regard to the Archbishop of York's proposal for an equity tribunal drawn from neutral nations to adjudicate on questions on which agreement cannot be reached at any ultimate peace conference?

His Majesty's Government will give careful and sympathetic consideration to this proposal, but the procedure to be followed at a future peace conference is a matter which will concern other Governments, and His Majesty's Government cannot lay down any procedure at the present stage.

Can the right hon. Gentleman say that this proposal will be brought to the attention of those other Governments, in order that they may be familiar with it?

I do not doubt that the Archbishop's speech was noted internationally.
