asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty what salvage facilities exist at Singapore and on the China station expeditiously to raise a submarine damaged accidentally or otherwise and which fails to surface?
A number of dockyard and private tugs, lighters and mooring vessels and equipment are available at Singapore and Hong Kong, and could be used for salvage work according to the requirements in a particular accident.
