As I informed my hon. Friend on 7th June, preparations are being made by the respective county councils for widening works where these are at present practicable.

Mr. Adams:

Is my right hon. and gallant Friend aware that I have had several similar answers both from him and his predecessor in the last year or two, and, in order that he may see for himself the perfectly remedial congestion on this important exit to the North, will he allow me to take him for a ride?

Certainly, as long as my hon. Friend will promise not to bump me off.
