asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether a nutritional survey, such as that which is being carried out in Nyasaland, is contemplated in any other part of the Colonial Empire; and whether it is correct to regard this survey in Nyasaland as the first of a series?

The answer to both parts of the question is in the affirmative.

Secretary of State

Secretary of State was originally the title given to the two officials who conducted the Royal Correspondence under Elizabeth I. Now it is the title held by some of the more important Government Ministers, for example the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs.
