The total quantity of coal exported from the United Kingdom amounted to 73,400,000 tons in 1913, and 40,338,000 tons in 1937. The corresponding figures of exports from Germany were 33,725,000 tons and 37,636,000 tons, respectively. These figures exclude coal shipped as bunkers. It should be borne in mind that the figures for 1913 are not strictly comparable with those for 1937.
