asked the President of the Board of Trade the sterling value of orders placed by Turkey under the Anglo - Turkish (Armaments Credit) Agreement Act; and whether such orders are being executed exclusively in the United Kingdom?
I understand that discussions are proceeding in regard to orders to the value of approximately £6,000,000; and contracts will be concluded on the completion of these discussions. The orders will be placed in the United Kingdom and, so far as possible, all work will be carried out in this country.
Will the right hon. Gentleman see that shipments from Turkey are in British ships?
