Oral Answers to Questions — Trade and Commerce. – in the House of Commons on 6th December 1938.
asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will state the credit balance available in London accruing out of the Anglo-German commercial Treaty?
The hon. Member appears to be under some misapprehension. Payments between this country and Germany are not subject to a clearing arrangement, so that the question of a credit balance in London accruing out of a commercial or payments agreement with Germany does not arise.
