As my hon. Friend knows, the present Order operates during the months of June, July and August. My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Scotland and I have found, after discussion with representatives of the various interests concerned, that there is a divergence of opinion as to the necessity for the Order under existing conditions. After careful consideration, we have decided that the Order shall continue in force for the months of June and July. The question whether the Order should continue to apply to the month of August requires further consideration and an announcement will be made as soon as possible.
