asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what subjects are to be discussed at the present Council meeting of the League of Nations; and whether any aspect of the situation in Spain will be considered either on the initiative of the British Government or otherwise?

As regards the first part of the question, the Council itself decides at the first meeting of each session what subjects are to be discussed in the course of the session. As regards the second part of the question, I understand that the Spanish Government have requested that the question of Intervention in Spain should again be discussed at the Council.

But is not the agenda in possession of the Government, and cannot my Noble Friend say, for instance, whether the question of Danzig, will be considered?

I have already explained that it is only decided at the first meeting of the Council what shall be discussed. Obviously, I cannot tell the hon. Gentleman to-day what the Council will decide to discuss.
