asked the President of the Board of Education whether he will invite the National Advisory Council under the Physical Training and Recreation Act to state the occupations which in their view are beneficial employment for children and young persons; and whether he will make their views on the matter available to local education authorities for their guidance when granting exemptions from school attendance under the Education Acts?

Mr. Stanley:

Before granting employment certificates local education authorities are required by Section 2 of the Education Act, 1936, to consult the local committee for juvenile employment. These committees must, in the nature of things,
