asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he has any statement to make with reference to the position in Danzig following on his recent conversations with Colonel Beck, Polish Foreign Minister?

During his recent visit to London the Polish Foreign Minister informed me that following on preliminary exchanges of view he intended to undertake direct negotiations with the President of the Danzig Senate in Warsaw this week in pursuance of the task entrusted to the Polish Government by the Council at its last meeting. The Polish Foreign Minister undertook to inform the Committee of Three of the results of these negotiations. I am taking steps with the knowledge and approval of the Polish Minister for Foreign Affairs to inform my colleagues on the Committee of Three of these conversations.
