I have to-day received a communication from the Japanese Ambassador to the effect that the Foreign Office in Tokyo are further examining the matter in consultation with the authorities concerned, and asking that any statement may be postponed till early next week. I would therefore ask my hon. Friend to be good enough to repeat his question next Monday, when I will take the opportunity to make a full statement on the subject.
