asked the Postmaster-General whether, in view of the profit made on the evening telephone rates, he will arrange that more operators should be available at trunk exchanges in the Midland districts?

Additional operators have been provided to meet the increase of evening traffic which has been experienced at trunk exchanges throughout the country, and the staff position is being carefully watched in order to ensure the provision of further operators as required to meet growth of traffic.
