The percentage increase in the imports of cotton piece-goods into the port of Karachi for the first quarter of 1935 as compared with the same period in 1934 was as follows: for goods of British manufacture, 58 per cent. increase in quantity and 39 per cent. increase in value; for goods of Japanese manufacture, about 6 per cent. increase in quantity and 11 per cent. increase in value.
