Sir John Power
, Wimbledon
asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he has any further statement to make in respect of the restoration of normal relationships between Bolivia and Paraguay?
Mr Anthony Eden
, Warwick and Leamington
At the first meeting of the Peace Conference at Buenos Ayres on the 1st July, it was unanimously decided to ratify the Protocol of the 12th June and to extend the truce provided for in that agreement until such time as the stipulated measures of security should have been completed.
Secretary of State was originally the title given to the two officials who conducted the Royal Correspondence under Elizabeth I. Now it is the title held by some of the more important Government Ministers, for example the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs.
