asked the President of the Board of Trade whether, in view of the special position of Argentina with regard to the Empire, he will say what steps he is taking to safeguard the interests of British trade and investment in that country?
I can assure the hon. Member that the question of safeguarding United Kingdom interests in this matter receives my right hon. Friend's constant attention.
Has the hon. Gentleman seen the report of a. speech by the late Minister to Argentina in which he complains that sufficient attention has not been given to this matter?

No, Sir, I have not seen it.
Will the hon. Gentleman also draw the attention of his right hon. Friend to the fact that British firms registered in this country are receiving none, or a very small propor- tion, of the quota of goods allowed to be exported from Argentina to this country? They are not receiving a fair proportion.
