asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether the attention of His Majesty's Government has been drawn to the action taken by the Mexican Government in connection with the affairs of the Mexican Eagle Oil Company; and whether action will be taken to see that the interests of British shareholders are protected?

Secretary of State was originally the title given to the two officials who conducted the Royal Correspondence under Elizabeth I. Now it is the title held by some of the more important Government Ministers, for example the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs.
