asked the Financial Secretary to the War Office what progress has been made with the formation of the Royal Defence Corps; and how many men were recruited up to the 1st January of this year?

Figures for 1st January are not yet available, but the strength of the corps on 31st October last was 84 officers and 1,042 men out of a total establishment of 192 officers and 6,177 men.
