There is no power to prohibit the import of British flags and emblems. Many classes of imported goods are, however, required to bear an indication of origin by virtue of the provisions of the Merchandise Marks Acts or orders-in-council made thereunder, and one of these 'Orders requires imported flags to bear as from 1st March an indication of origin on sale or exposure for sale within the United Kingdom.
