asked the Secretary of State for India whether eligibility to retire on proportionate pension is confined, in the case of members of the All-India services, to persons appointed before the 1st January, 1920; and, if not, to what date of appointment it extends?

Secretary of State

Secretary of State was originally the title given to the two officials who conducted the Royal Correspondence under Elizabeth I. Now it is the title held by some of the more important Government Ministers, for example the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs.
