asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury which of the Government Departments are arranging at the present time for films to be made of their activities; and whether he can give any details?

As the answer is some- what long, I will, with my hon. Friend's permission, circulate the particulars in the OFFICIAL REPORT.

Following are the particulars:

Excluding films made for scientific or research purposes, or for purely instructional use inside the Fighting Services, the following films are in course of pro- duction for the Departments named:

Department and Subject.

Ministry of Agriculture:

Market Gardening.

Post Office:

Department of Scientific and Industrial Research:

Radio Research* (five or six parts).

* This film is being made without charge to the Department.

It is the practice of the Service Departments to allow commercial film companies facilities, usually in return for a fee or royalty, for the production of films incorporating scenes of service life, etc. A few films of this kind are in course of production.
