asked the Home Secretary whether any prosecutions have been instituted since the passing of the Road Traffic Act prohibiting the parking of vehicles more than 50 yards from the road; and if he can state the places where such action has been taken?

I presume my hon. Friend has in mind offences under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Act, which prohibits the driving of motor vehicles elsewhere than on roads, with a saving for parking within 15 yards of a road. The total number of such offences dealt with by prosecution in England and Wales during 1931 and 1932 was 938. The number of such offences dealt with by the police in each district will be found in Table II of the Returns of Offences relating to Motor Vehicles for those years. Later figures are not yet available.
