asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he can state the terms on which the Government of Southern Rhodesia has decided to purchase the British South Africa Company's mineral rights in their territory?

Mr. J. H. THOMAS:

I have been asked to reply. I have no official information in this matter other than that the Government of Southern Rhodesia have purchased the British South Africa Company's mineral rights in Southern Rhodesia for a sum of £2,000,000. Further details of the transaction have however been published in the Press.
