asked the Minister of Labour whether the salaries and emoluments of the commissioners appointed to supersede various public assistance committees are paid by the Government or by the respective local authorities?

Mr. HUDSON:

Under Article 7 of the Unemployment Insurance (National Economy) (No. 2) Order, 1931, the remuneration and expenses of these commissioners are defrayed out of moneys provided by Parliament.
