asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is the annual total contribution from Scotland to the national revenue; and what is the proportion allocated to Scotland, including the defence services, during the last financial year?
I regret that reliable statistics are not available, and. could not be collected without a disproportionate expenditure of labour.
In view of the dissatisfaction in Scotland at not getting its proper proportion, will not my right hon. Friend take steps to give us some information on the matter?
I must warn my hon. Friend that further investigations into this matter might not produce the result be desires.
