Following is the answer:

The following statement shows the total declared value of articles, classified in the trade returns as wholly or mainly manufactured, imported into and exported from the United Kingdom during 1929, 1930 and the first eight months of the current year.

The above figures exclude throughout the value of manufactured foodstuffs and manufactured tobacco. The figures for the period indicated in 1931 are provisional.

Particulars for 1929 of the imports and exports of articles wholly or mainly manufactured summarised under the respective headings of (a) ready for consumption, (b) requiring adaptation or combination, and (c) partly manufactured are given on page 15 of the "Statistical Tables relating to British and Foreign Trade and Industry (1924–1930). Part I—General Tables" (Cmd. 3737). The corresponding particulars for later periods are not vet available.
