asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury what has been the rise in the percentage of the Empire supply of tobacco to this country since a preference was granted in 1928 over what was sent from the Empire the year before?

The preference on Empire tobacco was first granted in 1919, and was increased to the present amounts in 1925. That being so, I am not quite clear as to what figures the hon. and gallant Member desires, but if he will let me know I will endeavour to supply them.
