asked the Minister of Labour under what circumstances benefit has been refused by the Chorley Employment Exchange to Louisa Horrocks, Rebecca Ashmore, Ellen Briers, and Jane Berry because they declined, on the 11th March, 1931, to leave home to take up domestic service in Salford, in view of the fact that these women are weavers by training and, according to the Ministry's own returns, there are some thousands of women unemployed in the Manchester area, many of whom by training are better fitted to take domestic work; and whether she will state the conditions so far as wages and hours are concerned attached to this situation?
