asked the Secretary for Mines when he proposes to introduce the Bill promised in 1929 to acquire mining royalties for the nation?

I would refer the Noble Lord to the answer I gave yesterday to a similar question by the right hon. Member for Woolwich West (Sir K. Wood).

Is the hon. Gentleman aware that in 1929 the Prime Minister promised that this Bill should be introduced forthwith; and can he interpret to the House the meaning of the word "forthwith"

I am well aware of the circumstances of 1929, and I am not unfamiliar with the circumstances now.
