asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will extend the terms of reference of the Macmillan Committee on Finance and Industry to inquire and to accept evidence showing the effect, if any, of the weight of taxation on industry contributing to a high costs level?

Dr. DAVIES:

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that, if the impression gets abroad that this Committee will not receive any inconvenient evidence, the value of its report when published will be very much depreciated?
