The Empire Marketing Board welcome all well-directed voluntary efforts to give effect to a policy, similar to their own, but it is not their practice to recommend grants to outside organisations for such purposes, and I cannot hold out hope of an exception being made in the case of the league in question. If suggestions for assistance in other forms were made they would, of course, be considered.

There are various ways, by organisations, of co-operating with the work of the Empire Marketing Board without seeking cash assistance.

Secretary of State

Secretary of State was originally the title given to the two officials who conducted the Royal Correspondence under Elizabeth I. Now it is the title held by some of the more important Government Ministers, for example the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs.
