Part of Oral Answers to Questions — Trade and Commerce. – in the House of Commons at on 13 March 1929.
Sir Clement Kinloch-Cooke
, Cardiff East
asked the Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs whether he can give the House any information with regard to the situation of the German-South African Commercial Treaty; and when the provisions will come into force?
Secretary of State was originally the title given to the two officials who conducted the Royal Correspondence under Elizabeth I. Now it is the title held by some of the more important Government Ministers, for example the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs.
