Mr. MALONE:
43.asked the Secretary of State for Air whether he has any statement to make concerning the progress of the preparations for the London-to-India civil air service?
Mr Samuel Hoare
, Chelsea
I am glad to say that excellent progress has been made to date and that all necessary arrangements for the opening of this service in the spring according to programme are satisfactorily in train.
Secretary of State was originally the title given to the two officials who conducted the Royal Correspondence under Elizabeth I. Now it is the title held by some of the more important Government Ministers, for example the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs.
