asked the Postmaster-General whether, in view of the fact that mails are sent to Stornoway from the mainland every week night, he will take steps during the recess to see that such mails are delivered to the addresses on the island not later than the following day, Sundays excepted?

I am afraid there is very little to add to the reply I gave to the hon. Member's question of the 24th of May. The postal services in the Island of Lewis are now on the same footing as in pre-War days, i.e., there is a daily delivery on all main routes. I really could not justify further expenditure.
