asked the Secretary for Mines the number of persons fatally injured in the coal mines in this country during the months from January to the end of June this year?

The numbers of persons killed by accidents at mines under the Coal Mines Act were as follows: 75 in January, 94 in February, 155 in March (including 52 men involved in the Cwm Pit disaster and 14 in that at Bilsthorpe Colliery), 99 in April, 98 in May and 77 in June.
