asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he can state the reasons for the withdrawal of the French Minister in China from the commission of three appointed by the diplomatic body in Peking?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN:

The French Minister has informed the Senior Minister that his withdrawal is due to a divergence of views which arose in recent discussions between the Diplomatic Representatives, but I do not know the exact nature of the divergence.
