Oral Answers to Questions — Post Office. – in the House of Commons on 22nd July 1924.
asked the Postmaster-General if he will give instructions that members of the Post Office staff who, in the ordinary course of events, have to take their annual leave in the winter months shall be allowed to take at least one day of such leave in the summer months during the present year for the purpose of visiting the British Empire Exhibition?
It is the practice to allow Post Office servants to take the major portion of their annual leave during the period March to October, and I am not aware of any case in which the whole or any substantial part of the leave is restricted to the winter months.
