I beg to move, That, in accordance with The Church of England Assembly (Powers) Act, 1919, this House do direct that the Diocese of Southwell (Division) Measure, 1923, be presented to His Majesty for Royal Assent. The proposal is to divide the present Diocese of Southwell into a Diocese for the County of Derby. There is no opposition to the proposal, which comes strictly within the limits of the Enabling Act. It is recommended that it should be passed into law, by the Ecclesiastical Committee of both Houses which, under the Enabling Act, has to consider these Measures before they are presented to the House. I hope the House will approve the Motion.
