Oral Answers to Questions — Trade and Commerce. – in the House of Commons at on 4 March 1924.
Sir Robert Chadwick
, Wallasey
asked the President of the Board of Trade whether, as a result of successes obtained by American steel manufacturers in Australian markets, a Commissioner was appointed by the Board of Trade to examine the whole question of British and American steel manufacture and export; and, if so, whether he has made his report?
Mr William Lunn
, Rothwell
Reports have from time to time been received from His Majesty's Trade Commissioner in Australia on the question of the competition of American steel with British steel in the Australian market, and these have been brought to the attention of the interests conceraed. A Commissioner has not, however, been specially appointed to examine the whole question of British and American steel manufacture and export.
