The number on 1st November was 749. These officers are practically all "Specialists," for example, Royal Engineers, Royal Army Service Corps, Royal Army Medical Corps, Royal Army Ordnance Corps, Corps of Military Accountants, Chaplains, for whom no qualified regular officers can be provided as replacements. Reductions are being effected as rapidly as circumstances permit, and the present strength will be considered reduced by 1st April next.
