asked the Under Secretary of State for India whether, considering that the final recommendations of the Government of India have now been received, and that more than two years have elapsed since the question was first raised, he can state what decision has been arrived at on the question of the application to the Indian Army of the Royal Warrant of August, 1920, regarding the adjustment of the pay of retired officers of the Indian Army retained in the Army during the War beyond the date on which they became eligible for retirement?
The answer which I gave my hon. and gallant Friend on the date in question, 28th November, was that this question was under consideration. I can assure my hon. and gallant Friend that every step is being taken to accelerate the decision on the subject.
