asked the Under-Secretary of State for India what decision ha6 been come to on the question of the application to the Indian Army of the Boyal Warrant of August, 1920, regarding the treatment of officers retained beyond their date of retirement owing to the emergency created by the War?
The final recommendations of the Government of India on this question have recently been received and are now being considered.
When can I expect a reply?
The hon. and gallant Gentleman can receive a reply as soon as the matter has been considered.
Has not this been under consideration for over two years?
I do not think so. I should require to have notice of the actual time during which it has been under consideration, but I do not think it is anything like two years.
