Part of Oral Answers to Questions — Ireland. – in the House of Commons at on 13 July 1922.
Full information as to the course of negotiations at The Hague has been communicated to the Press. We have not yet received any official confirmation of the Reuter report of yesterday evening that the Conference has definitely broken down. It is the fact that a deadlock has been reached, but we have no information beyond that at present. I cannot forecast when the work of the Commission will come to an end, but I hope to be able to give the House a general idea of the progress made before the Adjournment.
