asked the hon. Member for the Pollok Division of Glasgow, as representing the First Commissioner of Works, if he will state what is the annual cost of maintaining a succession of plants in the flower beds at the west end of the Mall?

Although the area has been reduced by 25 per cent., the cost is still as high as £460. I think the outlay thoroughly justified.
