asked the First Commissioner of Works if he will name the towns where the Office of Works are erecting houses by arrangement with the Ministry of Health; whether he will give the number of houses now under construction, or to be constructed, by his Department for the various local authorities; whether he will state the percentage charged against these housing schemes for establishment expenses; and if he will say whether the contracts make any provision for penalising the Office of Works in the event of the estimated cost being exceeded as in the case of a private employer's contract?

Lieut. - Commander YOUNG:

The answer to the first two parts of the question is contained in the printed copies of the Civil Service Estimates, Class I, Vote 10A; and as regards the last two parts, I would refer the hon. and gallant Member to the answer given to a similar question on the 28th February last, of which I am sending him a copy.
