asked the Secretary of State for War whether he could state the battlefields, other than those on Belgian soil, on which special sites are to be reserved as memorials to British feats of arms in the late War?

I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply given to a question on this subject asked by the hon. Member for Elland on 3rd November. Applications from units to acquire land for memorials in France are in process of negotiation with the French authority concerned. As regards other theatres of war, I have nothing to add to my previous reply. I may add that I hope early next year to be able to make a statement on the subject of national memorials on the battlefields of France and other theatres of war.
